‘’Where there’s a will there’s a way to fight for your goals and dreams’’.
I’m 22 years old and I come from Stokkum in the Netherlands.
The love for the horses that's where it all started. I enjoyed taking care of them when I was younger. At 12 year old, I wanted to start riding and I loved it from the first moment.
For the last 3 years I’ve been living in Oudsbergen in Belgium where I work for the World Champion Jos Lansink. I started my riding career at Jurgen Stenfert’s place in De Steeg where I’ve been training till my 19th. The last year of my education as junior account manager at school I had to do an end-of-studies internship, which I did at Jos stables for 5 months, working in the different departments of the company (office and stables).
To be able to join Jos stable was not so easy, we needed a few meetings before he agreed. Later, we have arranged that I could take 3 horses from owners with me and I moved to Belgium. I enjoyed it a lot and I learnt not only riding but also the management around the horses. In the middle of my internship Jos came to me to ask if I want to start to work for him. I had to think not so long about it…
A lot is possible by just keep on going and being stubble sometimes. Even when you have to step back, with patient, hard work later it will go steps forward. I’m willing to learn and looking forward to get closer to the best riders. That’s why I am grateful to join the YRA team.
