My name is Sofia Manzetti and I’m an Italian show jumping rider.
I was born in Rome on March 13th, 2001. Since I was a child, horses world has always been my passion, I started playing with horses' toys, watching cartoon, video and movies with horses character, drawing horses...then finally my parents took me to a stable close to our house, for a summer camp. Following that experience I immediately realized that horse riding would have been my life! I started with some ponies' competitions, at first locally, then within whole Italy, winning an Italian Championship. Then I started to participate to several Nations Cup, representing Italy, all over Europe and later gaining a Gold Medal at the European Championship in Denmark when I was 15yo. I also participated, the following year to the European Championship in Hungary in 2017. Growing and leaving ponies, my passion still grew more and more, so I decided that I would have continued jumping, always improving myself and my riding skills with determination, hard work and dedication. I’m still representing Italy in Youth Nations Cup all over Europe and I count almost 20 Nations Cup and 9 medals. After school graduation, at the age of 18, I left my hometown and my parents to reach my actual coach in the northern part of Italy, and now I’m still travelling looking for experiences that allow me to grow professionally and to improve myself, taking the very best and the more advice and suggestion that I can from every single person I meet in my life. I’ve set so many goals for my life; it’s a long way but I’ll try to reach them step by step and I'll do my very best to become the professional rider I dream to be one day. I am so grateful to the YRA for having reserved to me such an amazing opportunity and I am extremely excited for that. I’m looking forward to the future as part of this amazing team.
